The plastic surgery business has long known that silicone is the bee’s knees. The same miracle material works wonders in hop-up buckings as well! Silicone as a material has great stability across an extreme temperature range and the ability to quickly return to its original shape when the applied stress is removed. It’s a popular material in the R-hop community and in our tests we’ve found that the Silicone bucking is just as good or even better than an R-hop! Maple Leaf Super Macaron – optimized mound shape True to its name, Super Macaron is like the Macaron but with steroids! The nub mound of the Macaron buckings is long and curved like any modern bucking, which results in a steady contact to the bucking. Even, long contact makes the backspin more even which in turn gives more accuracy and even a better range in some cases! In addition, the mound is shaped slightly like a diamond. Thanks to the optimized shape the mound provides the most accurate shot with good range. The use of Maple Leaf curved nub or a similar nub is recommended. Along with the shaped mound, the specialty of the Maple Leaf Super Macaron buckings are the sealing patterns on both the inside and outside, which give a better air seal. Furthermore, material has been added to the bucking lips to stop the lips from letting a BB pass as lightly as the older Macarons. The degrees of the buckings The degrees of the hop-up buckings mark their compatibility with guns of different muzzle energies or power levels. In general, you could say: the more powerful the gun, the higher the degree. The manufacturer recommends choosing the degree of your bucking according to the table below. They also recommend choosing a higher degree silicone bucking than a normal bucking in the same power range. So if you’ve been using a 60 degree MR. Hop in your setup, you should choose the 70 degree Silicone MR. Hop. However, the old but familiar wisdom still stands: tougher degrees usually last longer and return faster to their shape after shooting. Softer degrees provide more back spin and work better (or longer at least) in cold.
