SHS as a Manufacturer: SHS is a Hong Kong/China based airsoft manufacturer which makes upgrade parts designed especially for electric airsoft guns (AEGs). About the product: SHS version of the Siegetek Dual Sector Gear (DSG) concept. The name refers to the gear set and the sector gear, which is equipped with two DSG nubs that activate the tappet plate, unlike the standard sector gears. Due to this, as the gear rotates one revolution, it pulls the piston back twice, thus practically doubling the rate of fire compared to a standard gear set with the same gear ratio. Because the gun fires twice during one complete revolution of the sector gear, the sector gear pulls the piston only half way in the cylinder, compared to a standard sector gear. In other words, the swept volume of the cylinder is reduced by half and in fact the manufacturer recommends that the set is used only in under 300 mm or at the most 363 mm long inner barrels. In addition, the M-values of the upgrade springs are no longer valid as approximate muzzle velocities for the guns, because the spring as well is tensed only half way, compared to the standard length. Note that the installation of the DSG gears requires special experience and understanding of airsoft gearboxes. On top of that the installation requires upgrading other parts as well, so that the parts of the gear box are durable and fast enough with the new DSG gear. However, the package comes with pre-upgraded tappet plate and thus the set should be chosen according to the gearbox version (Version 2 or 3).
